Welcome to Systems Interoperability Framework Australia

The ‘SIF AU’ Program is introducing the Systems Interoperability Framework (SIF) into Australia. It represents a joint effort and commitment by all Australian school systems to develop an Australian implementation. The SIF Association AU will deliver a practical solution to allow vendor products to work together at the school and school system level and make it easier for schools, teachers and education authorities to access the data that they need.

Two ways to get involved with SIF in Australia

Receive SIF e-mail updates

Sign up for e-mail updates of the SIF AU program’s progress and other relevant SIF materials.

Gain access to SIF AU materials and get involved

Register as Collaborator. Extend your involvement in SIF AU by becoming a Collaborator.   As a Collaborator you receive a number of exclusive benefits and can have (bold) access to the SIF AU Spec now.  Collaborator benefits include:

input into SIF AU Spec v1.1

  • 50% off SIF Association Membership for your first year (if you sign up before June 30, 2010)
  • access to the SIF AU groupsite
  • access to all SIF AU Learning resources

SIF Implementation Specification (Australia) 1.0

November 23rd 2009: The Interim SIF AU Board agreed to publish SIF Implementation Specification (Australia) 1.0 

Adam Todhunter as Chair of the Interim SIF AU Board, acknowledges the contribution of jurisdictions, vendors, the SIF Association and the SIF Community in achieving this milestone.

The SIF AU project is now working to:

  • Undertake a series of pilot integration projects.
  • Further develop the specification.
  • Finalise the governance structure that will oversee SIF Assocation AU.
  • Engage Australian software vendors to encourage take-up. This includes communication about the benefits of SIF and incorporating SIF integration requirements into Request for Tender documentation.
